what a fun giveaway! I’m working on a couple super secret sewing projects right now for Christmas! Shhh!

I’d love to know what holiday gifts I’m going to sew! I haven’t quite worked that out. (This is the part where I shrug and eat lots of cookies instead of actually getting to work on the gifts.)

This year I’m working on a baby quilt, some plushies, a set of placemats, and an assortment of felted wool ornaments for gifts. Those books would come in quite handy!

I made an advent calendar and a bunch of gifts to go with that for my inlaws, which meant it had to be sent off by yesterday . . . barely made the deadline!  and I’m making my sister a nice little bag for her tablet plus charger.  We’ll see if I can get that figured out in good time!

My crafting list is long!  I’m making a grinchy apron, embroidered felt ornaments, retro door banner, zippered pouches, coin purses, crocheted scarves – egads I’d better get busy!

I’m not making holidays gifts this year but I did make a sturdy quilt for the homeless shelter over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

I’m sewing the clutch/pouch combo from KeykaLou patterns. Eight of each for right now, probably more. And typically, I’m putting it off as long as I can. They have to be done by next Friday!

Right now I’m (planning) sewing some pot holders and mug rugs to send to a good friend of mine.  I’ve got everything planned just need to finish it on time to mail out.

What a wonderful give-a-way! I am sewing mini wall quilts, coasters/mug rugs and placemats for Christmas, attempting to use all my scrap material.

I already made my older sister a table runner and hot pad.  i am hoping to make some placemats and maybe some other fun kitchen items for my younger sisters new apartment.

I’ve made 6 sets of owly potholders, three sets of patchwork placemats, and am about to start sewing a dozen mug rugs. I also have a jewelry rack, 4 cat toys, 3  tile trivets, 2 artist aprons and a set of toddler pj’s to start, and the traditional mailout (by the 17th) of my homemade fudge. My sanity will be residing with the partridge in the pear tree.

I’ve made several knitted gifts so far.  These books would get me started with ideas for next year!

I just wrapped up a table runner for my grandma and I am working on some bird ornaments to go in gift packages right now.  I want to make some more decorations, maybe some garlands!

I love making things and it really depends on my mood as to what I make each year. For the past few years it’s been machine embroidered items and free standing lace ornaments. This year I’m working on table runners and stockings (I hope to get to the stockings) and while it’s not crafting, I always make homemade candies for many gifts during the holidays as well. The past few years I haven’t made near as much as I used to because of my health problems but I do love baking and making the candies since everyone just loves them.

I am making small pillows and stuffing them with crushed pine, so my friends can have the smell of fresh pine.

I plan to embroider a couple of placemats plus matching napkins to give this year. I might also play around with stitching some Christmas cards.

I have just begun to get into wool felt applique! I’m having so much fun! I have mad a few miniature mittens and stockings to give to friends. I actually just found a wool felt applique candle mat to give to my brother and his wife. BUT, I am going to shoot for Dec. of 2012. That gives me plenty of time…..to procrastinate,, but also to get it finished. If I am making Christmas presents, I find that the best time to make them is during the summer. If I don’t get them finished in the summer, they do not get finished. Once school starts in the fall….we’re off and running!! No time for my creative ventures.

Just finished a quilt for my sister, a few Christmas trees, and whatever else I can squeeze in.  I would love some inspiration from those books though.

What an assortment of books! i’m sewing all sorts of presents. Right now I’m focusing on sewing ornament presents and having such fun!

These look awesome! I haven’t finalized my list yet, but I think I’m making several table runners, a couple of art organizers and jammy pants for my kids, some doll clothes for my daughter, and an angry birds hat for my son. Whew!

Wow, these are some great books!  I don’t own a sewing machine, so I ONLY sew by hand.  I’ve really gotten into embroidery on felt, so it’s perfect for making Christmas ornaments.

There is always a joy to look at new books about a craft that you love…I continually go back and reread many of the sewing and crafting books I own.  As my daughter grows I am amazed at the projects that I find for her in those”old” books on my shelf…they never go out of date!

I’m making a jumper from some fabric that I designed for Spoonflower, but once I’m finished cutting out, the scraps from that and the sample set are going into various little clasp purses and flower pouches.

I work on crafts all year long.I have done 1 quilt and working on another for this Christmas along with table runners and crocheted and knitted dish cloths and a jar of our home made apple butter..and already have 4 quilts planned for next Christmas along with a knitted afghan. I normally make Christmas presents for at least one person on my list but sadly this year I’m not sewing for anybody.  I am working on plans though to embroider and sew a one of a kind, customized stocking for my baby daughter to use next year.  It’s going to take some serious designing because it is inspired by the Rohirrim flag as shown in the Lord of the Rings movies and her name will be done in Tolkien-inspired script.
