Did you join us when we made felt from a wool sweater? Wondering what to do with all your glorious new felt (besides trying something from Stash Happy: Felt, of course)? Lucky for you, Cynthia is back today with a project that’s easy as 1, 2, 3 (and 4). She used different sections of just one sweater sleeve to create all the cozies shown below! Take it away, Cynthia:
1. Ready? Let’s go! Gather your already felted wool sweaters and press them with an iron and a pressing cloth.
2. Measure the height of the Mason jar (or other object) and cut out a length from the sleeve portion. Leave the cuff ribbing to add interest.
3. Using perle cotton and a large eye needle, whip stitch around the top opening. Add a running stitch the bottom, which will cinch in the sleeve as it curves towards the bottom of the Mason jar.
4. Slip the cozy up the Mason jar. Cut strips of fabric from you stash and tie them around the cozy.
That’s it…enjoy your new cozies!
Once again, a big thank you goes to Cynthia Shaffer for sharing her creativity over here on the Lark Crafts blog. If you’re a fan–and really, why wouldn’t you be?–you can see more or what she’s making over on her blog, too!
