<3 birds!

Haven’t had too many bird fabrics, but I do adore them and think they’d make some great tote or market bags with a prairie style twist to them!  I made sure my new banner and avatar in my Etsy shop included them and I’m got many decorative items around my house that feature them.  Hope to win this fun fabric!  Have a great day!

Fun! I didn’t make it, but one of my most favorite paintings by my most artistic daughter is of a Robin. She’s only  9, but watercolors are her medium and she enjoys it so!

I’ve made cute little aprons with birds on them for use in the Spring when birds are in abundance!

i made a book bag with two bird appliques on it – and finally used the decorative stitches on my machine to stitch it down!

I’ve never actually made anything with birds on it, but I do have my eye on something. It’s a felt clutch with a little bird appliqued onto the front of it. Love!

Wow, what a beautiful collection of fabric! I’m crazy about bird fabric (my father is an ornithologist, so the apple didn’t fall far from the tree). Besides many bags, I love little covered button magnets made with an Echino prints.

Favorite – the bird-themed party for my 6 year old – thumbprint birdies, pin the birdie in the nest, painting birdhouses, little pompom birdies.  Awww.

I craft things for our local Farmers Market have yet to use bird fabric but I can see those prints turning into some nice pieces. Very cute!

I have crafted felt birds, and want to make a kitchen window set with a bird pattern, as my kitchen one day will soon be all birds (fake of course)..  I love the fabric you have here, it is totally awesome!!!  Thank you for sharing…

Bird-related, eh? I make a lot of toys and enrichment items for my parakeets. Does that count? I use folding, crochet, and knotting techniques a lot.

I appliqued an owl onto a wallet I made. I also created a dress from birds cut out from paper.

The only birds I have in my stash are cardinals.  Great looking fabrics!

My daughter and I used plaster of paris and balloons to make bird feeders.  I would have to say that was my favorite thing involving birds I’ve done.

I’ve never made anything bird related ~ until recently when I painted a birdhouse ~ just for fun!  It turned our quite nice, and we hung it on our party porch!  Alas!  Within 2 days “Jenny Wren” was building a nest in the house, and her hubby was proclaiming to the world that a new batch of babies would be along in a few weeks!

We love the variety of birds in our yard; woodpeckers of all kinds (even piliated); Baltimore Orioles; bluebirds; and of course the persistent wrens who build in any semi stationary orfice.

I bought a small fake bird from the craft store, covered it in glue, and glittered the heck out of it! It turned out so pretty that I make them and give them out as gifts.

My favorite project using bird fabrics was the Japanese themed small wall hanging I made with a flying swallow print as its border. Pretty!

My favorite project using birds was making stuffed birds from the Spool pattern for my Christmas tree last year.

I have plans for a bird applique that I have found on the net.  This artist posts his work and he has kindly given me permission to use the image it will be a challange for novice me as it has many parts but I think it will be beautiful.

I embroidered a beautiful bird, a free pattern on Geninne’s Art Blog. I love her work, and it was so fun to be able to stitch some up myself!

I just made some bird ornaments using really pretty bird material, am giving them to the ladies in my bird club for Christmas.

To be frank, I haven’t worked with bird themes before. I do love the fabric and would be thrilled with it. This beautifully-put-together stash is just the kind of thing to get anyone thinking of working with this theme.

Origami birds with my 5-year-old son! I love it when he shows me how to make them.

I like to make purses with bird fabric, dresses for my daughter and I also made a shower curtain once for my birdhouse themed bathroom.

I made a sewing machine cover and matching needle cushion/jar with bird fabrics. I love them both!

I actually have made nothing with birds….although I purchased a piece of Alexander Henry’s bird fabric and intended to use it in a garden quilt. I still might. Winning the bird fabric would be great!

My husband watches, feeds and loves his birds. They patiently wait for him to feed them in the trees and dive bomb the bird feeder after he fills it with seed. It is amazing to watch them, taking turns feeding and hovering in the air. He would absolutely love a bird pillow If I made it for him!

Favorite “bird thing”?? Mine would have to be growing and crafting bird house gourds.  The gourds are amazing to watch as they grow!  And the vines are quite beautiful, I might add.  Anticipating “when” they are completely dry and then painting or carving them….Wrens love to nest in them! 

Favorite bird thing is– just watching. Bird fabric has been hard to find. Presently, I only own bird fabric in black and white.

I love my collage with a watercolor bird I did for Valentine’s Day this year. I intended it to be hung on the wall temporarily for the holiday but it’s still up there…

Well, for one thing, my little business that I’m about to open up on etsy is called “birdfriend”! I’ve been sewing, quilting, embroidering, and crocheting for all of my life and of course my favorite motif is the bird. From penguins and flamingos to parrots and peacocks, I love them all!

I would absloutley love this little fabric stash. I haven’t made anything birdie related as of yet, and this would be a great pile of inspiration!

My fave thing with a bird print has to be the stroller snuggler that I made for my daughter – it is mod but cute too, and so soft and cuddly!

 I associate birds with freedom. I have made art quilts and pillows with stitched, dye painted or appliqued birds in all different shapes and colors. My daughter’s name is Paloma, (dove in Spanish). My Christmas tree is decorated with birds that I have been collecting for the last 18 year. I guess I’m obsessed with birds!!!  They are so…..free and beautiful and the fabric you are giving away is so adorable, I would love to have it!

Great question! Not sure if I have ever made anything involving birds, actually — which is a crying shame! I guess I did do a whole bunch of origami cranes when I was in high school…

i like to draw birds, and am new to needle arts; last year i made an embroidered bird that was part of a christmas ornament. it was supposed to be sold in an christmas event at a museum, but i liked it so much i kept it for myself!
i love crows and jays, and magpies and while living in new mexico had wonderful encounters with all three types of birds.

I love the bird themed fabric and would love to incorporate it into a quilt.

I’ve made some cute kitchen aprons for my kiddos.

I made an applique wall hanging of a large owl.  I gave it to my Dad who is a bird and wildlife lover.  When I bought the pattern I hadn’t really done needleturn applique and didn’t know if I could actually complete the project.  One class and many months later I just started working on it one piece at a time.  Sometimes it seemed overwhelming, but I just kept moving forward and I was so happy with the results!

My family keeps peacocks as pets. One year, after the boys had shed their tails, we made a door wreath out of the feathers.  

I like the shape and construction of wings. I have drawn them simply and complicated, folded and spread. I think I am captivated by the notion that such a delicate yet perfect structure allows for flight. I’d love to have my own pair of wings.

I would love to win the bird fabric. My favorite project involving birds was a cross stitch picture of a hummingbird that I made for my grandmother’s birthday. It was stitched ith cotton and metallic threads and I finished it into a pillow using a lovely satin blue fabric that perfectly set off the blues in the hummingbird.

Hmmm, the first quilt I ever made, for my brand new baby nephew, had rubber duckies on it. 

I’d love to try something with bird fabric!  The only real bird project I’ve “made” is a cross stitch peacock, and it’s not meant to be ever finished.  Years ago I got the kit – the work in progress was destroyed in a huge earthquake.  I got another kit – the work in progress was clawed up by my cat.  I got another – the work in progress was lost in a move.  I have one more, but I’m afraid to open it!  I think something with FABRIC would go a lot better.  I hope!

I love all the fun bird fabric that has been coming out lately. It often has a retro and/or a Parisian feel to it. I recently started a quilt with a bird fabric as the main. I added some bright pinks, greens and black and whites.

I made a very pretty catch-all tote for a friends walker.  It was a good sized pocket with an additional pocket that faced the user, allowing them to carry a book or purse or craft with them without them having to carry said article It had ribbons to secure it to the walker and pretty lace trim.

I make personalized Baby’s First Christmas ornaments.They are little felt birds with the name embroidered on one wing,date on the other and flowers and vines embroidered all over.

I am currently embroidering a baby bib for my cousin’s new born daughter with a mommy or daddy owl and baby owl.  But my all time favorite crafts project with birds would have to be the parrot I water colored at art camp when I was twelve.

Oh!  I have a skirt that I made with bird fabric, unfortunately the pattern was not true-to-size so it doesn’t fit.  But it turned out super lovely!

I love birds.  I have 3 parrots, a blue and gold macaw named Kokomo, a yellow collar macaw named Bozo (he is the clown) and a Quaker parrot called baby.  I have made cage covers for their cages. I am so glad that I dont have to make them now with the price of material, we have 2 real big cages. I just finished making Kokomo a couple toys made with material.  His beak is so strong he breaks his toys but he loves fleece and different kinds of material.  He likes to chew on them. Birds connect us with the sky and the trees and help us to look up.  Both of my daughters have given me watercolors they made of birds.  I would love to make them a quilt or pillow with that bird inspired fabric!

I haven’t made any fabric bird-related things…but I’ve made pine-cone bird feeders, both with suet and with peanut butter plus birdseed. It’s a fun kid project to make Christmas gifts!

I have to say that my favorite item that I have made with birds is a stunning clutch that is black with red birds.  Love it.

My favorite bird object I made is a stunningly simple gemstone and sterling necklace with blue crazy lace agate beads and a wood focal that I painted to look like a blue bird….with different painting styles on each of the 2 sides.

My favorite thing was to make stuffed doves for my Christmas tree….

I haven’t made anything with bird fabrics (yet). The only bird related items I’ve made were not fabric related (but still very cute). There was a point where I fell in love with some fabulous green & white bird fabric, but just couldn’t bring myself to spend the $$$ for it (yes, that is 3 dollar signs!!! Yikes!)

When I was actively into crewel embroidery, I made a wall hanging with owls of many different types — there was a large snowy owl in the middle who was very cool!

Ooh, I actually picked up a couple of fat quarters with birds on them just to create something. Wouldn’t it be cool to have an eclectic quilt filled with bird fabrics? How neat would that be?

My favorite item was a bullfinch that I made (using a tutorial I believe I found here on Lark Crafts) that hangs on my jewelry tree.

I haven’t made any bird things from fabric — yet — but I did build stair-casing potted silk flowers in my carport. Each one has plenty of moss , privacy from the flowers and leafs and is away from the elements and most prey. Every year we’ll have some mama birds come build their nests in these pots.  It’s so enjoyable to watch the events close up.

I have needle felted a little blue jay which I plan on making into an ornament.  I had part of robin felted, but my dog, who happens to be a bird hunting dog somehow managed to snag it from a tall dresser and the rest is history.  Poor robin.  I don’t believe in hunting, but he doesn’t understand that.  He LOVES the scent of my wool roving so much that i have to keep it in a tightly closed drawer.  Apparently I need to secure my projects too!

I love birds! I embroidered birds on some curtains for my daughters’ room–I love looking at them.

I painted a pheonix once in bright colors and did a linoleum block print of a red tailed hawk for a friend’s wedding present who loved birds. Also drew,birds in a pic depicting Psalm 8. It would be fun t now try something in fabric!! I like learning new things and it seems one could be very creative with these fabrics. We have our first grandbaby due,maybe could be something for him/her to enjoy too?!

My favorite thing my momma made from a bird fabric was a quillo. A quilt that folds up into a pillow. It was made out of Rooster fabric. Large colorful Rooster fabric. It was cute.

I used birdfabric in different ways, lining for a bag, wallhanging for our granddaughter, keyholders, in my japanese heart quilt and so on. Would LOVE to win this bundle?

I made four mini stuffed owls for my husband’s birthday last year. Now my older son likes to collect them and throw them around.

I love birds! My wedding theme last year was birds so I made bird place cards, birdhouses (as parting gifts), they were part of all the bouquets, they were part of the photo back drop, and I used nests as part of the decor. I also love adding birds to my projects….I applique them onto onesies and bags. I’ve used bird fabric for bags, a changing pad, a bib, and aprons too!  

I have no bird fabrics (tons of pirates though) but I did make some onesies with bird appliqués for my niece.

I made a diaper cover with a bird on it for my little Harry. He adores it!

My favorite things I have made with birds is the set of felt bird ornaments I made for our Christmas tree last year!  I hope to add more to the collection over time

i havent made anything with birds, and thats why I need this!  =] I am starting a fabric stash at the moment because my husband got me a sewing machine so i can make cloth diapers!  With this fabric, I would make some cloth diaper covers or even just a quilt for myself! the fabric is soo pretty! thank you for the chance to win!

I’ve done lots of birds with fabric… mostly as toys for my upcoming baby, I love birds!!!

Birds can be so versatile.  I recently finished a baby quilt with background fabric printed with little birds sitting in the trees.

My favorite bird themed project I made was a sleep mask for my sister…I crocheted owl eyes and sewed it to a padded backing with a stretchy strap. It came out quite retro and she loved it.

i am doing a new ink drawing line called ‘bulging budgie’ – aren’t birds the neatest thing?  so kind of you to give away fabric! xx
