Sweet Birds: Celebrating our Blogiversary

June 01, 2011, 12:44 pm  Posted by Beth Sweet

Hey hey! We’re celebrating the 1st blogiversary of LarkCrafts.com (aww, they grow up so fast!). Happy first loop around the digital sun, little blog.

Did you ever notice that our Lark logo is both a hand and a lark? Our Bird Love Blogiversary means we’re infusing the month of June with birds of all kinds, and I was really excited to help start the party with this post.

Why so excited? Because I asked myself, “What does a blog party need?”
Answer: cake.
And then I asked myself, “How can I combine something I love with birds?”
Answer again: cake. Or, more specifically, sweet birds. Birds on desserts. Mmmm.

So, please join me in ooh-ing and ahhh-ing (and maybe even drooling a little bit) through this tour of sweet birds. Thanks to the talented artists, chefs, writers, and sugar-laden inventors who created these inspiring and delicious beauties!

Lovely! The delicate nest with the little blue eggs is my favorite. Almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

let me know how the cupcake walking goes! I’m sure some ladies’ academy somewhere places great value on the excellent posture one might acquire by balancing baked goods on one’s head :)
